The Outcome of the First Competition

The two co-winners of the kickoff competition were Kunal Roy and Jerry Ling! In order to decide who wins, we held an armageddon game between the two winners.

F.Y.I. An armmageddon game is where white has five minutes versus black's four minutes, but black has draw odds. Therefore, there MUST be a victor.

Jerry had White, Kunal had Black. The choice of openings was a Sicilian. Let's see how the game went:

1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 Ne6 3. d4 cd 4. N:d4 e6 5. Nc3 Nf6 6. Bf4 e5!

Uh oh, is Jerry already lost?

7. Nxc6!!!

That's right, I put THREE exclams for that move! In fact, Kunal Roy became so distraught that he immediately resigned.

Such a picturesque ending. It deserves a diagram of its own:

Anyways, sorry Kunal about that. The Official winner is JERRY LING. Give him a high-five! Right now.
